Jordan Ranch by Johnson Development
“Sunset Farm is a space that is welcoming to everyone. If there is a way for us to provide something that community members are looking for, then we are interested to hear how we can help with that.”
The amenities at Jordan Ranch are a large part of what makes the community what it is. From the get-go, they knew that one of these assets needed to be a local farm. They already had a relationship with Agmenity, a Houston-based company that manages and operates small farms. With the aim of providing access to fresh produce and different levels of community engagement through events and classes, Jordan Ranch aligned with Agmenity to bring this vision to life.
During my initial visits to the property and my conversations with Alex and the rest of her staff, it was easy to tell how genuine they were about interacting with the neighborhood. She let me know that, “Jordan Ranch is really the reason that we are here. Sunset Farm is a space that’s welcoming to everyone. If there is a way for us to provide something that community members are looking for, then we are interested to hear how they can help with that.”
You can also take advantage of the amazing farm stand, which is open every Saturday from 9:00am - 12:00pm. They also have their favorite seasonal recipes posted on a bulletin board for you to switch it up. If you can’t make those hours, don’t sweat it! Sunset Farm has a self serve farm fridge that is open to the public everyday.
The Informal Grub and Jordan Ranch are partnering to create a Harvest Market at Sunset Farm in the Jordan Ranch community. The event will have curated farmers market vendors, food trucks, music, and a beautiful farm backdrop.
