Celebrating Black History Month
Honoring Black Entrepreneurs at the Farmers Market
This February, in honor of Black History Month, we’re celebrating the Black entrepreneurs who bring unique products and creativity to our farmers market. These vendors add incredible value to our community, and we want to highlight their stories, passion, and hard work. Join us in recognizing their contributions and supporting their businesses this month and beyond!
The Smoke
The Smoke is a fast-casual barbecue destination and food truck operation, blending bold Southern flavors with creative culinary twists. Founded by Chef Reginald Scott, our mission is to bring people together through unforgettable boutique style barbecue, made with locally sourced ingredients and a deep respect for tradition. What we love most about our business is the connection we build with our community—whether it’s through sharing meals, collaborating with local vendors, or giving back to causes we care about. Starting from humble beginnings at community farmers markets, we’ve evolved into a dynamic brand with a loyal following, offering not just great food but an experience that celebrates the rich culture of barbecue.

JuJuice Seamoss Co.
JuJuice Seamoss Co. is proudly owned and operated by Julian Donovan, a dedicated Houstonian with a passion for health and wellness. His mission is to make high-quality, natural wellness products accessible to those who may not have easy access to them—especially in a market where large corporations often prioritize profit over transparency. He strives to be a role model, encouraging them to chase their dreams without limits, break barriers, and redefine what’s possible. B’tween sandwich co.
B’tween sandwich co. is the realization of Chef Michelle Wallace’s dreams. Wallace’s years of experience in the restaurant industry, as well as her steadfast dedication to bringing delicious and unique sandwiches to Houston foodies. Launching initially with a series of pop-up events around the city, b’tween sandwich co. brings the fan-favorite sandwiches that have made Wallace a force to be reckoned with. Blending her skills at the barbecue grill and in the kitchen, the chef blends comfort food and traditional fare for one of a kind mouthwatering sandwiches.
B'tween Sandwich Co. mission is to bring amazing food to the community as well as supporting the community. One important way of getting that done is by shopping with other local farmers and ranchers and building a trifecta of relationships...b'tween, farmers (and ranchers) and consumers.

La Lydia Garden Boutique
Hello! My name is Angela Harris Cannizzo, and I am the plant curator for La Lydia Garden Boutique. I’m also a proud permanent vendor at Informal Grub Markets!
As a child, playtime meant spending time in nature, and I loved every moment of it. Imagine eating off the land, chasing fireflies, and gathering around a potbelly stove to enjoy sweet potato pie. Those cherished memories shaped the plant-loving person I am today.
In 2016, my passion for nature and its beauty expanded beyond my home and into yours. Working with plants has taught me how deeply they contribute to our health, well-being, and the survival of our planet. Studies have shown that nurturing plants and surrounding ourselves with greenery makes a positive impact on our lives—and helps the Earth thrive. That’s why I believe so strongly in what I do: providing real plants for real people—because bringing nature into our spaces is both essential and transformative.
At La Lydia Garden Boutique, we specialize in curating nature’s beauty for your everyday living space. We take pride in offering a unique selection of potted and unpotted plants, each chosen with care. As part of our commitment to making plants accessible to everyone, we are excited to introduce a DIY/Q&A potting stand at the markets. This space will allow plant lovers—new and experienced—to learn, create, and bring greenery into their homes and workspaces.
Because when we nurture plants, we nurture ourselves—and together, we help our planet thrive.
